Prune has been supplying Project Management services to Post Office Limited.
This assignment, part of the Crown Office Refurbishment Project, is to manage the refurbishment interfaces between the Property Team, Royal Mail Group Property and Post Office Limited. The challange is to ensure that the Crown Network can continue to operate during a £40M refurbishment, covering the 370 office estate of the Crown Network.
The assignment covered the capturing of Business Requirements for the refurbishment as well as ensuring the non-refurbishment initiatives, such as Post and Go and the new Customer Management System, is dovetailed into the refurbsihment schedule seamlessly.
The refurbishment, the biggest spend on such an activity for over 30 years, completed 4 months early and was delivered within budget. The project has resulted in a significant step change in the Post Office environment and the way that the Post Office operates and interacts with it's customers.
Prune's involvement also extended to the Tendering Exercise for the Customer Managment System. This system allows customers to select a ticket for the service they require. The system is being used to enhance the user experience as well as help manage resource usage within the Network.
Prune's key capabilities were also used to provide overall Board Governance. This ensured excellent, effective Change Control within the project; a key element to it's success.
Prune is currently supplying professional project management services to General Motors.
The project is the Remediation of unsecured protocols used within General Motors global IT Infrastructure, as a result of Sarbanns Oxley legislative requirements. This involves working with and managing Global Infrastructure Hosting and Application vendors to pilot, deploy, test and go-live a common solution selected by General Motors.
By applying excellent communication skills and strong project management methods and practice, Prune is delivering value in bringing together all stakeholder parties, creating a integrated project plan and schedule. The effect of this work has given a clear direction, strategies and plans clearly known to all involved. The creation of regular program governance and technical forums has also delivered the benefit of team work, with clear leadership and visibility of successes and issues; leading to smooth management, issue resolution and decision making.
January to March 2007, Prune supplied project management services to Oxford Semiconductor, based in Didcot.
The assignment was a care-taker role, filling in for the incumbent Project Manager whilst on sabbatical. The project was the development of a Silicon device incorporating a collection of the companies "serial bridge" functions.
The scope of the project covered design, test & verification, tape out fabrication and testing.
Application of project analytical techniques identified the project was falling short of expectations. The schedule was also highly complex, resulting in broken dependencies and misrepresentation of milestones.
Prune delivered these finding and proposed clear steps to resolve;
- Splitting the plan into stages that could be planned and executed with greater levels of confidence.
- Team brainstorming to review and re-work the plan with current knowledge.
- Identification of Metrics that could be used to measure progress and predict effect on delivery.
The result of this was a more confident measure of reporting, buy-in from the team, and clearer vision as to what was expected within each stage.
Prune also contributed to the on-going improvementinitiatives as well as taking part in the companies ISO9001-2001 audit refresh. |
